A noteable king once remarked: "The ability to correctly
forecast the outcome of events is the greatest gift a man can possess"
So lets test our gifts by predicting the outcome of
the NFL season
NFC East
Dallas
- Best looking NFC team so far and who i think will represent the NFC in the Super Bowl, "Americas Team, the Dallas Cowboys",
i wonder when somebody is gonna pound them for using that phrase
Forecast 13-3 + Playoffs
New
York Giants - Fringe playoff team, they get in as a Wild Card or just miss, can't see them doing much damage
if they do get in
Forecast
10-6
Washington
- These guys look like they mean business, i expect coach Gibbs to get them in the playoffs, QB Campbell might be the greatest
Redskin QB of all time, they won a few Super Bowls with these freshy QB types, Doug Williams comes to mind, this team has
a chance of going all the way, they've done it a few times, nice longshot play, we took them at just over 100-1 odds, they
are 3-2 at the moment and play some tough games this year, at New England, at Dallas, at Tampa Bay, at New York Giants, at
Minnesota, if they can get some good results from those and get in the playoffs they will be full of confidence and feeling
like a big boy again
Forecast
10-6 + Playoffs
Philadelphia
- Physically beaten up and mentally worn after recent playoff runs, they peaked and don't look like they're
getting better
Forecast
7-9
NFC North
Green
Bay - Not really sold on them being a serious contender just yet, but this new head coach has some fresh plays
rollin nice for them, and the most experienced QB in the league
Forecast
10-6 + Playoffs
Detroit
Lions - The unreal DL, somebody gone and told them they were good, key hirings at the coach positions really
lifted them, Off Co-ordinator Martz from ST Louis and Marinelli from Tampa Bay makin the most out of limited talent, really
improving the play of guys that had no future, QB Kitna says they will win 10 games this year, they are playing better than
i thought they could, the offence is rolling nice and should roll all year, they could probably win this division, it's between
them and Green Bay
Forecast
10-6 + Playoffs
Minnesota
- Adrian Peterson the one man Viking onslaught, we will find out how far one Viking can run
Forecast 7-9
Chicago
- Teams coming off a Super Bowl loss rarely do well the following season, Griese is a good QB in a bad situation there, team
needs a rest
Forecast
7-9
NFC South
Carolina
- Prolly my favourite NFC team in recent years, that Super Bowl run they had a few years ago was the best i've seen from the
NFC recently, Carolina is so good they can even beat u with Vinny at QB, this is a tricky team that's always underestimated, they
can get in the playoffs as a Wild Card team playing on the road as a big underdog and just whoop the home team, whoever it
is, the hard part will be making the playoffs, some toughies ahead, but if they do get in they will play good and make a run,
we put some money on them at 80-1 odds
Forecast
9-7
Tampa
Bay - Lookin like a playoff team no doubt about it, they got some nice mojo going this year, coach Gruden
already won a Super Bowl there, legit contender, QB Garcia fits in nicely there
Forecast
12-4 + Playoffs
New
Orleans - Another team a bit gassed coming off a big year last year, a little bit thin at RB without Deuce,
luckily Bush is there pretending to be Tomlinson, i can't see a repeat of last year's performance
Forecast
8-8
Atlanta
- This team don't wanna play unless Vicky come back, doggin it
Forecast
3-13
NFC West
Arizona
- The Cardinals say, what did we do to deserve losing our starting QB for the season, and even our backup QB got his arm busted
up, who is doing that, damn i wanna get that guy, that is a tough tough break for a team finally enjoying some glory, we
expect they will get over this little bad roll and be right there at the wire to battle for the division title, we took them
before the season started at 150-1 odds, liked the prospect of an explosive young offence with former Steeler Super Bowl winning
offensive co-ordinator Wisenhunt as the new head coach
Forecast
9-7
Seattle
- Haven't shown much this year but could get in the playoffs representing the West after Arizona's bad luck,
they are of the darkhorse variety of contenders, NFC Champ 2 years ago losing to Pittsburgh in the Super Bowl
Forecast
10-6 + Playoffs
San
Francisco - Who are these guys, some nice looking prospects but just not good enough yet
Forecast
7-9
ST.
Louis - If U live in the St Louis area please contact the Rams for a uniform, they've gone and used up all
their players
Forecast
1-15
NFC Probable Playoff Picture
1 - Dallas
2 - Tampa Bay
3 - Seattle
4 - Green Bay
5 - Washington
6 - Detroit
On the fringe: Arizona, Carolina, New York
AFC East
New England - What
can you say, they are being touted as the greatest team of all time, and will probably win the Super Bowl again, the dominant
team of the decade, very impressive bunch
Forecast
14-2 + Playoffs
New York Jets - Why
does this team bore me so much
Forecast 4-12
Buffalo - The
best loser of all time, i like to watch them play just to see how they will find a way to lose, damn cursed team, still they
are not so bad
Forecast 7-9
Miami - What's
up with the fish, they're really doggin it in recent years, winningest team of all time, now relegated to the role of ringer,
they throw in the occassional shocker game, like last year knocking off undefeated Chicago in Chicago 31-13, then knocking
off New England 21-0, so they can play when they're in the mood
Forecast 7-9
AFC North
Pittsburgh - All
time favourite team, go Steelers, they look strong again, not sure they are as good as they were in 2005 when we had
them at 50-1 odds, they lost coach Cowher and offensive co-ordinator Wisenhunt
Forecast 11-5 + Playoffs
Baltimore - Played
good last year and were one of the favourites to win it all but fell to eventual champions Indianapolis at home as the favourite,
unlikely they can put together another run this year
Forecast 8-8
Cincinnati - Playing
average ball at best in recent years, not a serious contender anytime soon
Forecast 6-10
Cleveland - Playing
better than expected, might sneak into the playoffs as a Wild Card team but not a serious contender yet, but they are improving
Forecast 9-7
AFC South
Indianapolis - The defending
champion and team to beat, they will be in the playoffs but a repeat is unlikely, it's hard for any team to repeat in today's
game, it's just too much physically
Forecast 12-4 + Playoffs
Jacksonville - This
team is playing some pretty good ball and improving, still a little bit short of the top 3 AFC teams
Forecast 11-5 + Playoffs
Tennessee - Really like
this team and coach Fisher, they run a good program down there, we took them at 120-1 odds and think they can get in the playoffs
and knock off some of the big boys
Forecast 10-6 + Playoffs
Houston - No threat
to the top AFC teams yet
Forecast 6-10
AFC West
San Diego - Nice run
last year but this year they don't look so good
Forecast 9-7
Denver - They can win
this division and host a playoff game, they are hovering just around the top 5 teams in the league
Forecast 10-6 + Playoffs
Kansas City - A little
bit short of being a serious contender, just around average
Forecast 9-7
Oakland - improving
but not close to being good enough yet
Forecast 8-8
AFC Probable Playoff Picture
1 - New England
2 - Indianapolis
3 - Pittsburgh
4 - Denver
5 - Jacksonville
6 - Tennessee
On the fringe: Cleveland, Kansas City, San Diego
Most Probable Super Bowl
New England vs Dallas
